Playoff Predictions
« on: January 05, 2010, 05:58:44 AM »

Expect a Cowboys-Chargers Super Bowl
Not even two notorious postseason fall guys (Romo, Turner) can prevent this

I am afraid I see the Cowboys as a serious contender to getting the 6th ring as well  Lips sealed  I still hope the Saints can stop them though!

Chargers have been playing so good and they are healthy so they are my immediate AFC favorite  Wink

I think the Eagles will prevent that from happening this weekend Grid.

Chargers do look very good right now.

I am going to go against the Grain and say SD vs Eagles in the S.B. with SD winning it and L.T. poss. calling it a career.

I see it being Colts - Packers, with the Colts winning it all. I really think the Packers are flying high right now, and they'll keep it going this weekend against the Cardinals. And with Payton back for the ENTIRE game, Indy will slip past SD in the AFC Championship Game.

I'm with D on this one; Chargers. They're playing very well, peaking at the right time and are healthy overall.

I have to admit I have always been very skeptical about Norv T. and while he got off to a so so start with S.D. I am very impressed with how well he has that team playing on both sides of the ball this year.  They are a team that could take the whole thing.

You where right STL. The Packers were flying - it just wasn't enough. Fantastic game to watch but my personal taste is that I like to see some defense too so for me it wasn't "the best playoff game ever" as some are already labelling it.

I really enjoyed seeing the Ravens humiliate the Patriots for example - lot's of good defense and running in that game. I guess that's what Sing wants the niners to look like.

Yep, I blew that one. The Packers defense was doing so well, but really fell apart against the Cardinals. It was like they had never covered receivers before.

The Indianapolis Colts don’t generally say a whole lot. Last week while preparing for the Jets, they turned it down a notch. Now, with Super Bowl XLIV approaching, they’ll really scale things back.

I'm going way out on a limb here and predict a Colts win. Smiley

Funny with all the offensive power on those two teams, defense will be the deciding factor in this game I think. I've been tempted to say that the Saints opportunistic D will be able to generate some game-changing TOs again but I think Manning is just too much on a roll for. If he can't be stopped by the Jets and Ravens, he can't be stopped by the Saints either.

I don't know that the Colts D will be more succesfull against Brees though...

The Colts and Saints arrive in Miami on Monday, when the hype for Super Bowl XLIV will kick into high gear.

After last night, I think the real Superbowl was the NFC championship game. The Vikings played the Saints much harder than the Colts did.

After a nice start Peyton was off his game.  Much credit to the Saint for pulling this off.  I am happy for the Saints fans and that entire city.  This championship is going to generate millions for that economy.

That's why for all his greatness, Peyton Manning still doens't belong on the same level as Joe Montana. He may have better numbers but Joe has four rings and clutch is what it's all about at QB.

Saints, Shanahan inspire 'Skins to beat 50-1 odds
http://www.cbssports.com/cbssports/story/12910660/saints-shanahan-inspire-skins-to-beat-501-odds

The Saints did it. A franchise that rose from the depths of embarrassment, from faces hidden in the shadow of paper bags, reached the pinnacle in a few short years.

So why can't the Redskins, a team that has known glorious success, do the same?
