With all of this talk about trading Harris and Smiley, is there a list of team's who definitely need offensive line starters?
I'm just curious because what we would get for a Smiley largely depends on the demand, and I don't know if there are that many teams that are desperate for a new starter this late before training camp. Broncos, maybe? Anyone else?

The only possibility he gets traded at this point is if a team suffers a major injury in TC.

Nolan said that all the teams that were interested in Smiley (and probably any who were interested in Harris) have now backed off of that interest because they all drafted players to go on their O line in the last draft. Like WCG said, interest will probably only rise again IF a team loses one of their O linemen during their OTA's or in camp. The big story now is that Baas may beat out Smiley in camp this year . That is very good news because many of us were starting to wonder if there was something wrong with Baas and wondering if Nolan/McGloughan had missed on so high a pick.

The Cowgirls cut Marco Rivera. I would think they could now be a potential suitor for Smiley. Not only can they use a young, healthy starting guard to replace Rivera, but they have 2 first round picks next year. They may be more willing to give up a 2nd than other teams because they already have 2 1st round picks. Dallas may be our best chance to get a 2nd for Smiley....
It would allow them more flexibility with where Leonard Davis plays on their line.

svetich: Not gonna happen. The Girls knew Rivera was on the way out when they signed Davis. The Girls are looking for those bigger type OGs--more a mauler than a technician (Davis over Rivera). While i agree that landing Smiley would give them more flexibility on tehir OL, I can't see the Cowboys having any interest in Smiley.

Remember I still have night-mares about it... As for Smiley and K. Harris if something does happen it will not be until late into camp when a team suffers an injury and makes us a solid offer.

He was actually brought in by Dallas to play Guard Scoots. He was a bust at OT, but a pretty good OG in Arizona, and Dallas plans to play him at G with Colombo and Adams playing the Tackle spots.

Scoots: I agree with wcg. Dallas may ahve its eye on Davis at OT in a couple/3 years (Adams retiring soon and RT unsettled with Columbo's injury history), but for this year, he is headed to OG.

J, wcg, my mistake, I thought they were thinking he was a solution for their OT needs with their contract and injury problems there.

Scoots: right now, Dallas doesn't have an OT need. Adams is their LT and is playing ok. Columbo is their RT--he has a horrific injury history, and this past season was his first injury free year, and he played well.
Davis could be insurance at RT, but OG may be his best position.
