As the team signed defensive tackle Josh Shaw, they completed their rookie signings. The team is likely to place Shaw on the PUP. The team also moved Anthony Parker on to the injured reserve. Familiar territory for Parker, his latest injury - torn quadriceps has effectively ended yet another season for him.
The 49ers also released defensive tackle Menson Holloway. Holloway failed a physical at the start of camp, and the 49ers did not see him getting healthy enough to find his way onto the roster. The signing of Shaw also made him expendable.
