The 49ers opened training camp sporting a new look. The team’s typical red and white jerseys received an update this season, when the NFL signed an agreement with Reebok to design the entire league’s jerseys. Although the 49ers regular season uniforms will remain the same, their practice jerseys are quite different.

As pictured to the right, notice that the red jerseys are now darker, and have a black shadow around the numbers. Similarly the white jerseys have a darker red number and a black drop shadow. Offensive players will sport the white uniforms, while the defense and special teams will wear red. The new jerseys also have a larger NFL crest on the front of the neck.

The 49ers are reportedly quite happy with the new look. The jerseys are reminiscent of those worn throughout the 1994-1995 season. Whether by coincidence or not, its still uncertain, but that was also the last time the 49ers won the Super Bowl.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
