The 49ers have been plagued with special teams problems all season. Yesterday the team took a step to help improve the coverage and return units. The team re-signed Terry Killens who was in for a workout on Tuesday.

Killens spent time in Denver and Seattle this season after the 49ers let him walk in the off-season. Not being on a NFL roster for the final week or the regular season, Killens was eligible to sign with a playoff club.

Killens will play primarily on special teams. He’s a sure tackler and could see minimal time at linebacker where he is an extremely versatile player.

To make room for Killens the 49ers released defensive back Jason Moore.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
