It really only gets attention when there is a problem, like in Cincinnati, where the Bengals are constantly forced to re-sod their field, and players spend more time slipping then they do cutting. Or closer to home, when the 49ers field turns into a swamp. Through two home games though, the 49ers field has been in top notch condition.

There are often complaints about the shape the 49ers field is in. Players traditionally are forced to change their cleats on the sidelines so that they can get better traction. So the great condition the field has been in, is actually uncharacteristic.

The 49ers will play their third game of the season at home this week. Actually it will be their third consecutive home game, and the field is certainly ready for the challenge. I just thought it was important to point out how good a job the stadium staff has done with the field. It’s so important to have a field that is in good condition because it helps prevent injuries, and helps players make plays.

Talk about it in the 49ers Paradise Forum
