On Tuesday the 49ers agreed to an injury settlement with former third round pick, quarterback Giovanni Carmazzi. The deal comes as no surprise to either side, after giving Carmazzi a full year to recover from an injury he suffered while participating in NFL Europe.

The 49ers are now left with just four quarterbacks on their roster including Jeff Garcia, Tim Ratty, Brandon Doman and Cade McNown. It is believed that the team will carry just three on their regular season roster.

Carmazzi still sees himself playing football, but likely will spend another full season in recovery. The talented college star is loaded with potential. Should he ever get healthy, the athletic quarterback could become successful in the NFL.
